What is the dry weight of a 261 complete including flywheel pressure plate and bell housing. I need to calculate shipping.

Thanks Red

Red, Snapshot below taken from the 1955 2nd Series Chevy Truck Data PDF shows the dry weight of the 261 with clutch (assumes that's with flywheel, but doesn't say for sure if with bell housing) = 616 lbs. If you want a cushion on weight estimate, add 25 lbs for the bell housing and you should be close enough. smile

By the time you add a forklift pallet to carry it, figure on about 700 lbs., fan to bellhousing. Most shippers like Blue Lane Freight (Fastenal) insist on "dry" cargo- - - - -no fluids to leak. Blue Lane, which is owned by Fastenal, ships palletized freight from one Fastenal store to another, at pretty reasonable rates.
