I may be being dumb here, but I am not sure if classic instruments vintage cluster is the same color coded to oem wiring.

I will have to run new wire for oil pressure, but I should be able.to de pin oem plugs and wire directly into new cluster if I know what each wire.does.

Do these companies run same color coding?

Do you have the PDF Installation Manual??? I just scanned through it and it seems to indicate the color coding for each wiring connection to their gauge package.

Not sure what company you got your wiring harness from. If they claimed it matched original OEM harness colors, it shouldn't take much to match up between that harness and the Classic Instruments wire colors.

Don't know if all do, But I've seen like a dozen instances where the aftermarket part for a specific make/model fitting having the same color. My examples have all been GM vehicles, and not every single wire but majority.

Yea u printed the instalation manual, but it only references the color of the classic wires. Does not reference the oe wire colors.

Below is a capture ffrom a reproduction 1960-66 Factory Assembly Manual with the wiring diagram, listing wire color codes and gauges. Hope this may help you out.

Well turns out some are the same and some are not.....

Yes between what I was able to find on line and that pic I was able to figure most of this out.

Temp, oil, back light, fuel, volts, high beam, and blinkers all wired in.

I need to call holley tomorrow. I need to get the tach signal back into the holley connector. Can't find which one it is in my.paperwork.

I also spend 2hrs wiring the speedo into the reverse sensor on the trans. I was batting 1000 until then.

Sounds like you got a bunch of it ironed out! Progress is good.

Once all working, time to pull apart and build the harness.

Is this what you need?

The 7 pin connector has the tach in, with various methods depending on how you have the ignition set up.

The 10 pin connector has a tach output to the gauge.

I knew brown was the correct color for the tach, I had no idea which pin it would go back into in the plug as I had removed everything I though I did not need. I called Holley and they directed me to a pic of the plug which gave me the info I needed. I hope it is the correct plug in the pic.

At least on mine, the pin labels are cast into the housing. I can grab you a picture of it tonight if that would be helpful.

I got it. Have working tach although wiring is mearly held together with painters tape.
