Today got the cab set on with the help of 3 friends. Since I had the cab on a pallet, I couldn't just drive the engine hoist underneath, so 4 of us lifted the cab while my wife pushed the hoist thru the door openings.

It's starting to look like a truck now. yahoo

It is indeed. Things are going smoothly now that you recruited a proper beard to help :p

Indeed a great milestone. You will be amazed at how much space is freed up when all those parts get attached to the truck. I know in my case there is a lot of garage space consumed with parts in process.

Nice work for sure she looks good - and agreed that’s one of the most exciting “parts” of re-assembly - getting your shop space back smile Well, until the next project starts anyway.

I like that color.

Yeah, with some room to move around in the garage, I may find my battery compartment cover that's been MIA for years. LOL!

That’s got to be satisfying seeing your efforts finally paying off. Nine years if I recall correctly. Congratulations, great job!

Congrats! Those are the days that make you forget the miserable ones. thumbs_up If you haven't done much running of the new rebuilt engine do so before installing the front sheet metal. It'll make any minor issues alot easier to work on.

Looking good. I'm with scooter on doing as much as you can with the front clip off. Makes for easy navigation!

I spent the day connecting little bits to the engine, like the temp sender, oil gauge tube, clutch and brake pedal linkages, etc. etc. etc. Would have been a PITA with the front clip on. Still need to get the steering column installed. Definitely doing that before the fenders go on.

I'm glad I'm finding these posts. I'm now planning to leave off the pedals and steering until I get my cab on the frame.

Have you also checked into The Project Journals? They are all in truck-year order. Can make it easy to find stuff. (Also "Control F" on any page helps a lot!! wink )
