I hearby announce the upcoming event, "Wrenchin' and Wrelaxin' on the Wriver", on our property in Fulks Run, Virginia. After consulting with John Milliman, the event will take place 26-28 July. This site has plenty of room for trucks, campers, tents, etc. Bring an inner tube, or River float along, as we enjoy anchoring them and just lounging with a beverage. There is no electricity at the river, but there is plenty of room for generators. We also have nearby parking with 20 amp power for bigger rigs that aren't comfortable going to the river site. These spots are close by and we can shuttle folks to the river. This post is to gauge interest and start planning.
Hard to turn that down George-beautiful setting! Can’t commit yet but I’ll see what I can do and keep in touch. Thanks for the offer.

Doug -- it truly would not be a proper ODSS event were you not present. Drag one (or more ...) of the NE Bolters with you

Doug, in that regard, we will have a list soon of the folks who have checked-in in the North Eastern Bolters Side Lot.

I have no problem making this Wrenchfest a family event. We will have bathroom facilities in multiple RV’s and the river is a great place for everyone to hang out and relax. As for getting into the site, I want people driving RV’s to park at our flat parking area and then I will take you over to “eyeball” the entrance. I have driven numerous sizes and shapes of RV’s into the field with no problem. Yesterday, I took our 37’ travel trailer over there and it is lower to the ground than a typical 5th wheel. The biggest issue is a sharp turn off the paved road. When leaving the site, it is an uphill grade to pull back out onto the road, but I haven’t had an issue with it.
Beautiful spot! Hope I can make it, thanks for the invitation.

Sounds like some celebrity ODSS players are on the roster! I’m looking forward to hanging out with the crew. I’m thinking that a Low Country Boil with shrimp, sausage, potatoes and onions will be on the menu for one of the main meals. We definitely won’t be going hungry.
George -- Put me down for one of the spots that only a Quigley or Sportmobile (probably with assistance from a Quigley) can access. I don't want to camp near any of these "Glampers"
As of this moment, I'm planning to bring my canoe and kayak and make them available. I only have two PFD's, though.

My Lifesaving/Lifeguard Certificate has expired so I am urging all attendees to bring their water wings and/or PFD's.

I will be camping with Higgins. Don't need to be with the glampers, but sounds like I don't need to be near Quigley either 😊

I want to offer a possible change of dates to the ODSS clan. On Saturday July 20, there will be a huge truck show only 2 or 3 miles from our Wrenchfest location. It will be the 9th annual Bill Harter truck and tractor show and it has gotten bigger every year. It is mostly big rigs, but they have every size truck and a lot of cool equipment as well. They will also be selling food and they always have a ton of give-aways. Whether or not we move the festivities, the linkup point for the weekend will not be the house that we have used in the past for Junkyard Tours, but our new house that is big-rig friendly, in the shadow of Chimney Rock. We will be able to move back and forth from the site to the river and we will have floor room for bedroll’s in the house. Standing by for feedback.
Address is: 14575 Runions Creek Rd. Broadway, VA 22815
That would be good to support a local event, George!
My plans are evolving ... will pm ...

George -- Doesn't seem like much feedback is forthcoming...
It's probably been a busy weekend for everyone. But if we could get this off TDC ... I, for one, have significant logistics to arrange if I am to attend ....

Agreed John. It’s a tough time of year to get time for added events. We’ll see how the next few days go before I pull the plug. Even if we shut it down, I’ll have a place for Bolters to stay overnight if they want to come attend the truck show.
Well, forget the old trucks.... I might just slap the 16' Grumman on top of the Quigley for a weekend on the river...

After consulting with the Illustrious Potentate, we have decided to cancel this event. Summer is obviously too busy of a time to add additional events to an already full schedule. I look forward to linking up with my ODSS brothers at a future venue… hopefully prior to Winchester.
For anyone wanting to attend the Bill Harter Truck Show near my home next weekend, I will gladly provide a place to camp/crash the night prior. I will not be showing a Stovebolt, but plan to take both of my pickups that were previously owned by The Gunny, R. Lee Ermey. I hope to see some of you there.
