After experiencing this a couple times in the past, fortunately at low speeds and knowing how scarce parts are getting, i get nervous when i meet a big truck. Anybody got any ideas, lowbuck if possible.

You truck should have a safety hook, but these are more secure, although harder to mess with.

Run a 6in. stove bolt up, drilled a hole in bottom lip of hood, drilled a hole in the bolt and put a 3/16in lynch pin with a fender washer below it. Once painted black it will "disappear". Total cost about 3 bucks, not show quality, but not hideous. | | |
