The fluid i pulled out originally was horrible to the point it turned back in to rubber like in the bottom. Got all that removed and scraped out as best i could. Was going to fill with good fluid run it for 50ish miles and change again. Has anyone addded a magnet to the rear to collect metal trash that may have been not caught? Was thinking about using something like this- anyone have thought? Cannot imagine it would hurt unless it got dislodged although i think that's very unlikely. Link

Probably not essential, but can't hurt.

The amount of metal from this point forward will be very minor unless there is a mechanical problem in the assemly.

I recall seeing a donut shaped magnet used in some automatic transmission pans, surrounding a dome shaped projection in the bottom of the pan.
