Have located a 1972 235 with great compression still; will it it bolt up? | | |

216, 235 and 261 all share the same bolt pattern on the rear. 1942-62 share the same flywheel bolt pattern.
The 1972 engine you are looking at would be a 230 or 250 not a 235 and uses a diferent bellhousing and flywheel.

" yes, I checked the valves " ~ B.S. ! every one I work on has tight valves and so won't run correctly .
It only takes a couple hours to adjust the valves then set dwell & timing , even with 60 # compression these old things run pretty well .
' Blue Chip ' forklift eh > musta been mighty expensive when new , most forklifts i;ve ever seen had four banger flatheads . or is it just BIG ? .
