I have a Model 42, Watson Transmission, Serial # 7 82530. Where do I find out the ratios, and whether it's an underdrive, or overdrive or combo? Obviously I don't know much about them.

The best way to see what ratios you have is start turning the input, count both the input and output revolutions and divide.
Or count gear teeth and divide.
You will have a direct or 1:1 gear as one choice.

The 2 around it were a short under- and overdrive, and the 1st on 4-speeds was 60 or 90-under; a deep-reduction gear.

I do need to get back and pick up the linkage/shift rods that are still sitting on the back of on old truck I traded for. The fellow said what I didn't want back there he would just drop off at the dump.
