First pic - Leftovers of parking brake cables that someone cut? Second pic - No idea. Obviously old and rusty. Hard to tell from the pic, but it doesn't look like a factory weld. Someone's fabrication many years ago?

Not sure, it's just a thin wire, like mechanics wire , through a rubber tubing. Has me scratching my head.

Kevin is right, they go between the bezel and the bulb to prevent the bezel rubbing against the bulb. I believe the wire keeps it from spreading. They also seal against the bulb. Maybe it helps keep the buckets cleaner.

The link I posted says they're for 41-57 trucks. I know there were remnants of them around my headlights on my '51.

Just my opinion, but that bracket looks like an early Flux Capacitor bracket -- front mount, before they went to the later top mount.

Irregardless, and as Devil's Adjective, I opine that this FC bracket has traveled in time too many times to be trustworthy for its original purpose. I recommend that you box it and label it, and put it in a secure location for comparison purposes for replication in the future or in the past.

Wasn't the early flux capacitor bracket made from element 115 (Moscovium)? I don't think it rusts. They say it wasn't synthesized until 2003 but I think we all know better.
