1957 3100, 235. Is there a diagram, schematic, laying out which hole, and even which grommet, is used for the cables, wiring and tubing running through the firewall? i.e. speedometer cable, oil pressure tube, vacuum tube for wipers, etc.
Thanks in advance!

The Factory Assembly Manual has those diagrams. If you are going for an original build, I can't recommend picking one up strongly enough.

I have an electronic copy of the 1955-59 FAM. Below is fairly readable pic of Section 1, Sheet 39 that provides the Dash and Toe Board layout and routing/mounting diagram. Hope this is helpful. wink

EDIT: The lower left diagram applies to your 3100.

Excellent! Just what I needed!
I will track down a FAM.
Thank you both!

They are $21 at Rockauto.

Part Number: 55TFA

It is well worth the investment. You might also consider a shop manual for the GM repair/maintenance procedures. Some of the instructions are 40-50 years out of date as best practices have changed, but it is a good place to start for questions.
