Been searching for days trying to find the AD Chevy gauge color code. The taupe brown/green shade. I can't find anything close in the rattle can stores. I'm putting new guts into the stock housings, and have modified the 4 single metal plates (fuel, volts, oil, temp) to fit onto them. Just want to reshoot the fronts close to the color before the new stencils are put on. If not, I'll take a virgin piece of tin to a mixologist...but don't know how they will deal without a color code. They sometimes seem to get irritated with something beyond a formula that the computer spits out. Thanks. Chip

Your best bet would be to have someone color match it for you. Automotive paint stores usually have chip books you could look thru to find a match, or they could use their computer gizmo to match it, although that might be expensive. One shop here charges $75 for computer color match. If you can match it with a chip book, they can make you a rattle can with that color. I had a rattle can with custom color for $35.

They don't do it anymore. I was wanting to touch up some of the interior and to Kevin's point, most places are expensive to get a small amount of paint color matched. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2021 Posts: 214 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2021 Posts: 214 | The local mixologists with a recipe to put it in a rattlecan is about $30+. It depends on the color. It's still base/clear, so additional can of clear was needed. I was quoted $75 for a can of swift red to do the firewall so I could drop the engine in and plumb and wire this winter. Opted to go for the whole gallon and gun it myself. Much cheaper in the end game, being the outside will be painted in the spring. Thanks for the info.
