I posted some pictures in our DITY Gallery story and the Welcome Centre. I was told in our Swap Meet post that the gauges are newer than the truck.

I took a picture of my Vin tag. Can anyone decode this? It's supposed to be a 1951 GMC 100.

Thank you.

According to the info I have (from an LMC catalog), the plant code letter (P) wasn't used until 52-55 model years. Also Bill's link says the same thing.

But the serial of 24831 is lower than the 1952 Pontiac plant range of 28736-49333 for 1952 production. headscratch So that says it's a 1951, but the color of your gauge cluster says 1952 or later according to Jim Carter (but that could be wrong).

Thank you for all the information.
Since we're not the original owners, I have no idea what was changed over the years.
I don't know much of anything about the old trucks, just that I like them. 😂😂😂
I wanted to find an old car like one of the ones my dad had, but hubby wanted a truck more.
If we do another old vehicle, it will be my choice.
He'll have to deal with it. 🤣🤣🤣
