| | | | Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 513 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 513 | i went to the junkyard and saw a few 47-53 two tons, i really like them and could use one from time to time, they were a little more than what i wanted to pay for them, so my friend has a couple, and i got to talking with him and he sold me a 1952 gmc 2 ton with a two speed rear end, the bad part is the frame is tweaked, but all sheet metal is in good shape, so since the frame is twisted he threw in a 52 chevy two ton frame(good brakes also), and a good running 216, so i'll put the motor in the chevy frame, and the gmc metal on the chevy frame and have me a nice old truck 2 ton jimmy, i got it all for 300.00

Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 | I don't know all the details on swapping a GMC to a Chevy frame, but I think there is an issue with how the radiator support mounts.
I am sure it can be made to work, but you may want to start asking about how to do it.
Could be the radiator support from the Chevy fits the GMC?
