Is there a way to be notified about next year? I live in Marion, In. I would like to go to the next annual get-together. I have been to the KC get-together 13 times but at 80 it is getting more and more difficult.

Ron,

Glad to see you planted yourself in here! I believe someone will be along soon. We think you'll like this bunch. You already know Tom (1954 MI) and maybe others. It'll be much easier for you and Jordon to connect with this group, and many even some Mini-meets.

I am afraid you need to take a geography lesson. Jordan is 4 hours south of me and then it is just about that far to the Great Lakers. ohwell After my first trip to Kc, I felt I Had found an old trucker home.

Ron. You don't have to go up to the Great Lakes. GL is a "region" where folks can get an idea of who else is in the "neighborhood." Just think, the Whole Wide West is a lot of territory to cover.

Southern Bolters have some threads for Florida. AL one, too. I see there's an IL thread in GL. Why not start an IN one?

Ron,

It would be fun to get some meet-ups going in the Great Lakes region. I know it's tough with the region being so wide-spread geographically, but there are some solid existing shows that are centrally located that we could tack a Stovebolt gathering onto.
The first one that comes to mind is the "AD Nationals" in Franklin, IN. Next year's show will be September 20th-21st.

Ron,

You like to do research / searching. Why don't you see that existing truck and car things are going on this fall. There must be a few fall festivals scheduled. Seems like some churches are getting into this venue also. See what you can find out and post it here. We (you) may be surprised how many Bolters are near by.

After November, the holidays and W I N T E R brrrrr sets in .... some trucks get tucked in for those dark days.

My truck was out in the snow "playing" in February or early March when we had a wet, heavy snow storm. My daily truck was in the dealers shop so the '57 was my choice of wheels for some back road adventures to a couple of small jobs. I could have taken the Corvette or the Harley but the 2 ton Chevy seemed more appealing that day.

One of these days when schedules permit ill try and make it to a meet. Im in north IN area between Plymouth and Valpo on the 30 corridor. Work takes me into Marion occasionally, just not with the big bolt. That's a lot of gas stops for that drive.

I am getting old and crotchety and I don't go to two large shows yearly in Sept. just 30 miles from me on the same weekend. I just found out about the Franklin show. We also have a cruise-in/fly-in at the local airport in AUG. It just seems it is all a major effort. I was glad to get to Mongos even though the truck did not make it. I have Tennasee on my calendar for next year.
