The '48 may have a single rear mount, but there's no reason that the mounts for the '52 couldn't be installed if that's the case. Might need drilling the frame rails for the rear cab shackles. The doors are not easily interchangeable between '48 and '52 cabs. The latch mechanism is different. But hood and fenders are interchangeable.

Is the '48 registered/titled? Swapping the cabs could possibly lead to problems with your DOT or if you ever sell the truck.
Figure all that out in advance.

'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

Ed Pruss Thanks Ed, I should have mentioned that. The shackle bracket holes on later frames using the 4-point cab mounts are in the web. If dogdaddy needs location dimensions for those holes, I can provide them, as my cab is not yet mounted on the frame.
