Hey All:

I just purchased a 1953 Canadian 9430. I don't see much info on them so I am looking for fellow owners or knowledgeable folks to pick their brains as I work on it.

If anyone is interested just let me know.

Thanks

Chris

Welcome to the site.

If you use the Search feature up in the link above and type in "1953 GMC 9430," you'll see a bunch.

I'm gonna move your post over to the Welcome Centre. In there, they probably can give you a few others to read that are in the forums or other spots on the site.

TNChris,

Welcome to Stovebolt! wave

I am curious to hear the story of how a 1953 Canadian GMC 9430 happened to find its way to Tennessee???

The story and some pictures would be great to see. wink

Since you have your locale set for Tennessee, you may want to go drop a post and say hello to your neighbors in the Southern Bolters forum. There are a whole bunch of Bolters all around your area and they are a great bunch of folks.

Looking forward to hearing and seeing more about your truck. thumbs_up

Dan

Hi TNChris,

I own and drive a few of those model and several other Canadian Bolters do as well. Just post questions (probably in the Shops Area) as you have them.

Remember your Canadian truck will have random minor differences from the USA counterpart. So once in a while you’ll come home with the wrong part for that truck . The master brake cylinder is not the same as the USA. And the tie rod ends also differ. The cab was welded slightly differently so some close up photos from online and others won’t look right to what you are seeing in places . But I’m sure you will have plenty of fun.

Some good news is your 9430 doesn’t have clutch head screws except in 1 location, holding the gvwr tag onto the A pilar. Everything else is a normal head factory screw.

Chris, Southern Bolters will hold our yearly gathering in Townsend Tenn next year if all goes as planned. Great time for all. Check out this year's pictures in our Southern Forum.

You might like to post your truck pix in our little Southern Bolter Bolts thread.

Welcome to Stovebolt. Consider yourself at home.

When you reply to a post (or start a new thread), click on Full Editor. Down at the bottom on the left, you should see a link titled Attachment Manager. Click on that link. It will bring up a small window that allows you to upload picture files. When you finish, click on Done.

If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.
