I finally have my 47 3600 on the road. Two years since I pull the engine and 1 1/2 years on the body. My son took this picture tonight, thought it was worth sharing. I’m not quite done with everything, I cracked drivers side windshield, new one coming tomorrow. Then I need to install head liner and trim, and the windlass.
Thats a very pretty color! Well done. I'm sure your are very proud and you should be! Thanks for sharing.

You should see it in the sunlight. It pops. Two base coats, two tinted clear coats and one top clear coat. In this picture it almost looks like the cape maroon that this truck was originally.
Very nice to look at! You did a great job in not much time. Congratulations!

Looking great, nice work. Worth the effort in the end.

Gr8 job on the Chevy and the photo ðŸ‘🇺🇸ðŸ‘
1962 C10 with a 235 6cyl -- all of the drive train seems to be original. Some of this story is in the Side Lot Some people like a new truck. I liked the old ones.
Great looking truck. Give your son a high five for that photo.

Good Job!! My guess is that it runs just as good as it looks.
My ‘51 3600 has been a driver for about 10 years now. The best things I’ve done since it’s rebirth was installing a T5 transmission and rebuild the draglink &tierod ends, new kingpin’s & bushings along with taking the front springs apart, cleaning and reassembling with plastic liner between the springs. Now it’s a pleasure to drive. Less noise with reduced rpm and much better ride and driving experience.
Please continue to share the stories (and their will be stories).
I have a Gear Vendor Overdrive on my sm420 and 4.56 rear end that is original to the truck, it gives me a final 3.55 ratio. I know where two Eaton rear ends are with 4.10's but have not closed the deals yet. I think a 4.10 would be a nice improvement, especially milage. Right now, I'm getting 14.6 mpg both times I checked.
