Foam slices like butter using an electric knife. If you don't have one, you can usually find them in a thrift store or yard sale for a few dollars.

The park brake foam doesn't completely seal on mine so the boot is essential. I'm even considering a fancy leather boot for a better seal. Any heat you can keep out of the cab in summer is money well spent, I think. However in winter the air leaks do augment the heater once things warm up.
