With all of those so called truck drivers out there, or better yet “steering wheel holders”, she’ll do just fine! Throw her into the fire! I have complete confidence in her! She has a good trainer! Her mother!!!!!

Jim, that comment is commendable, and hilarious.

My plan is to come early and leave Saturday, have some plans Sunday that I cannot move. So whenever the party starts, I'll do my best to make it.

John e o,
Wasn’t referencing you in that post! Pretty sure you know what I was referring too!
I watched a guy backing into a dock the other day. At least, 30 tries, and it wasn’t a blind side docking! After he left, another real truck driver did it in one shot!
I learned on a truck with manual steering, no A/C. You made your attempts count with that set up!
Jimbo.

30 tries?? I have heard that with the extreme shortage of CDL drivers, they have dumbed down the standards considerably. I'm told they've even removed parallel parking from the skills test.

But I should talk ... Took me two tries to back into the job site the other day ... The entrance is at an angle and a steep down grade. Engineers stakes .... mud .... and I'm making the turn on the blind side. Road I'm backing off is a dirt lane with trees close ... and I get yelled at if I leave ruts anywhere but on the job site. Trailer is the 48 foot demo trailer ... beat up and sometimes has a mind of its own ...

I'm just glad the boss wasn't there to see me all arms and elbows driving like a new NAFTA driver ...

Darn it Jim!
If you can’t be there lighting fires under a fuel tank while wearing the official Stovebolt dust mask?
I guess it is not even worth my time to make the trip.

Jim, I missed one Winchester truck show since the first one I attended and Still hear about it. Are you sure you want to go there. This site has some classy ways to get out of a wedding invite https://onefabday.com/say-no-to-a-wedding-invitation-decline-etiquette/

If you really must get a dolled up for said wedding, what about Thursday and Friday, huh? You can do it!

Me and Jethro may be calling you to set up a convoy. If not on the way up, at least on the way back.

Sorry to hear this. I guess that means you are really out.

I'm sure the ODSS gang will come up with another chance to get together later in the Fall. Saw some of the great photos in the "What to bring" thread.

I need to get some more of those up. Need John to help with the image captions. He pointed out a bunch of stuff but I wasn't in the "intake / output" mode; just intake and stare. big_eek

"The last shall be first and the first last!"
-I'll neither be the first there nor the last to leave but I plan on being there.
-I'll be bringing my used and serviceable exhaust system for Nick.
-Is Hambone coming? I ask because we have unfinished business inside one of his Muncie 319's.
-Receiving a large order of dinosaur blood from Sweet.
-Hope to be driving my truck with a recently installed 261, replete with knees bent running about stories of fortune and misfortune, spiced with gnashing of teeth, flat out lies, half-truths and oddly, occasional honesty.
-I'll be bringing an appetite and a road weary body in need of a flat place to rest my head.
-Does anyone have an extra AD lower front fender rod thingy, and is the R different from the L? It has holes on both ends and attaches from the lower fender to the watchamacallit deal over there that ensures aerodynamic possibilities beyond 70mph. For compensation I can offer a half bag of chips or a power bar that is too sweet for me and tastes like raw oat meal.

I think we will be departing 10ish on Thursday. Jason Wood will be driving his Loadstar out with us as far as I know. Kayla has to get out of school, but school is half day, and she leaves early every day.
We can most certainly convoy.

I have yet to “Roger-up” for the festivities because Joyce and I were supposed to be camping in Maine (home of Milliman), the entire month of September. We had even planned on visiting “The Bone”, between his shifts at the maple syrup factory. My mom has been having some health issues, so we canceled the trip in order to be close to her. If the current situation remains in effect, I have every intention of visiting my brothers in Winchester.

Take care,
George

I do believe the brothers will be glad to catch up with your doings great and small. I've added you to the list.

Sorry to hear about your Mom. Certainly hope she'll be alright.

So, does that mean The Bone is in a sticky situation??

"So, does that mean The Bone is in a sticky situation."

That can be taken in a least 3 different ways.
Since this is a family friendly site we can surely discard one of those differing ways.
I am going to go with it is merely just a quaint, yet corny Peggyism, which I find endearing.

Regardless, it does seem a bit shennanganish to be in this quite serious, and specific thread, no? smile

Sweet dreams - Billy Marlow.

He's set up Camp Stovebolt this afternoon. John's got the picture unless Billy posts it / them himself.

He's resting and in a peaceful place ... above the ground. grin
