It's titled as a 47 but as you see it looks like a 46. Can anyone confirm that it was in fact made in 47 sometime before march. All I have is the information on the body tag. It says 21PW-K and in smaller numbers behind that says 8115. I found some info on this as quoted from the "Chevrolet pick up red book" which gives history on, decodes serial #'s, colors options etc. The book states, the first series of 1946 Chevrolet pickup production began September 1st 1945, and continued through Sept 1st 1946. The vehicles produced during this period are known as "interim" models and are indicated as such by the designation ck in the serial #. Second series 1946 trucks were built from May 1st, 1946 to May 3rd 1947, and had a dp designation. You'll find some interim models titled 1945's and some second series titled 1947.
Hope that helps. Sounds like Stan's got a rare truck if his serial # checks out as per the above noted info.
So, if anyone can help clear this up, we can add the information to the Gallery page. In case it comes up again. Plus re-title it if need be.
