This ol’ truck started out in Bristol Virginia/Tennessee, appears to have hauled asphalt for a while, made its way to Raleigh, North Carolina for a spell and now resides in Fredericksburg, Virginia for a time yet to be determined.
It’s the 327 rendition and everything has been working fine with under 100k original miles as the story goes.
I’ve hauled firewood, dirt, compost and wood chips and have a driveway project for it next, as soon as I a sure the brake hydro booster is plumbed as it should be for maximum longevity.
I dressed it up for the Christmas Parade last year and folks loved it.
I bought it some new shoes and found a man here in King George County (VA) who would put them on the old split rims. It’s sporting a nice paint job on both the cab and dump box.
Compared to the new dump trucks on the road it looks like a toy but that’s how things were hauled 60 years ago. It’s a Beaut!

What a great looking (and hard working ) Dump Truck!!
Saw your registration when it came by "my desk" and it caught my eye for sure. Besides being a possible addition to our ODSS, you'll find a great group in the Big Bolts forum. We have several folks right in your neighborhood (Fredericksburg).
ORS, you've helped my OCD.
I'm glad you put applied the red and white reflector tape in a symmetrical fashion. I see it applied on trucks and trailers all the time where they start it on one end and cut it off wherever it happens to end. Drives me crazy.

Welcome to Stovebolt and thanks for sharing your story and pictures.
Looking forward to see more pictures as you can share. A great place to post more "working" pictures is in the General Truck Talk (GTT) Forum Who uses their truck as a truck... on-going thread. Post in there as often as you like and be sure to take advantage of adding up to 10 photos per post to your hearts (and ours) content!
Will add a note that you can also add "captions" to your pictures to better describe what your showing. Easiest way to do that is to follow along the steps given in this screen capture video put together by member "klhansen" for posting photos with captions. Just follow the pointer. POSTING A PICTURE WITH A CAPTION.

Just like the one my Dad had.. looking at your grille, I think my '65 is really a '64 but it's been titled the wrong year so long that it doesn't matter anymore.
All Righty, Thank you folks for the nice welcome and kind words. It has been a minute!
I got side tracked with working the ol' truck and then after finishing my project set out to sell it, Because, I registered it commercial and that is expensive and so is the full coverage insurance. I missed selling it in December because I hadn't fixed the oil leak.
Upon removing the oil pan I discovered the engine has been rebuilt! A gleaming set of new pistons and the crank shaft balanced and it looks really clean inside. If there are 10k miles on that build I would be surprised. It just Purrs at an idle and ROARS with a load.
There have been a slew of 10k offers and the best offer was 13,500 but the ol' boy just couldn't put the money together, I guess.
It's back on FB Market place in Fredericksburg, VA. If anyone knows someone who would appreciate and enjoy a Purdy Ol' Truck like this. Someone is going to be looking REAL GOOD Driving this gem around.
I'll probably have another Old Chevy Truck before it's all said and done. I prefer a mid/late thirties body style. More my style! Hope every one is well and having some fun. Take care,
And we have Big Bolts and a 60-66 area we call it the Parking Lot) that you can post in also. Refer back to this Welcome Centre post with a link (we can help with that) so folks can see your history of the truck. Let us know if you need some help with any of this.
Thanks for the update!!

Steve -- Beautiful looking truck! Too bad you have to sell it. It would look great in the ODSS line up! (Old Dominion Stovebolt Society -- Our local gang of 'Bolters).
Looking at your pictures ... Are your wheels the Firestone RH-5 center splits? My '65 came with the RH-5's and I was able to find replacements for them (and mine were the harder pattern to match -- GMC 6-bolt). If they *are* RH-5's .... well, if they are, we can discuss. If they aren't ... Never mind
