It has the up draft carb set up on it, looks kinda cool. Has anyone ran one of these on a regular truck? Any inherent problems with them? It looks like I have the room to run it, I'll figure out the air cleaner later. I'm not trying to be original in restoration, so I thought this would be different.....Rick

It took me a little while to figure out the vaccum pump... I wouldnt think they would work all that great in a conventional truck because they are bulky and hang down so far. You may have problems hitting the steering and also running the intake tube somewhere else. Linkage might be a little different to due to the updrafts throttle connection. They are cool carbs. Keep it on a shelf in the garage! Not sure how the carters are set up, mines a zenith, being its a gmc. Id go with the downdraft for now. Think about it buying a coe to use the carb on! Not too metal friendly???? well sounds like you haven't been looking in the right places..... The Eastern 2/3rds of the state is a Deasert.... with less than 5in of percipitation a year......
So if you want nice rust-free rigs? You just need to cross over to the "dry-side" of the rockpile..lol.. To the land of plenty..... yup, plenty of great rust free trucks to choose from....
if you want COE's and/or std cab rigs?? look no further than in and around any of the orchards near either Yakima or Wenatchee..... or the wheat fields of the Palouse.....
Take a look at the pix of my trucks... both rust free after almost 60 years in the elements.....

Nice truck, good metal.Maybe I need to visit the desert again. I remember some lonley old roads all along those orchards, did see a 40's Coe in town also. There must still be alot of trucks in that area, every orchard had about 2 or 3 trucks on it. Thanks for the memory jog, I'll quit complaning and start looking
