As some of you may know, I am currently preparing to pull the 305 V6 out of my '62. I removed everything that attaches to the engine, including the hydraulic clutch slave cylinder. But, i looked around, and no ground strap between the block and the frame! I know an engine wont run worth beans or wont run at all without it. Where would this strap connect to if I get a new one? Is there a specific place on the block that it should be bolted to? If it is still attached to the engine and frame, was it in a place that wasnt easily visible? If this was causing my truck to run poorly, then I am pulling the engine for the wrong reasons. Actually, I want to rebuild it anyway, so its not like I dont have a cause. Anyway, if anyone can help, it would be appreciated.
