I have a '54 6100 that of course originally came with the 2 speed vacuum switch under the dash. By the time I got the truck that switch was removed and a vacuum switch added to the gear shift.The problem is the know is long gone so you only have a cable to push or pull which can be quite difficult. I was able to acquire an original 2 speed switch and it does have some linkage. But I can't tell if there is anything missing and how it actually all goes back together. Can anyone provide photos and/or a good diagram so that I can try to get this back to original?

kclark, So, you have the inside the cab, underdash low-high switch; is that right? Do you have the valve assembly, 1/2 inch vacuum tubing, firewall check valve, etc?
Phil's diagram shows you what you need. A fellow bolter gave me most of his hardware from his 1950 COE, as I have the same truck. The linkage is no doubt different as the cab sits so high over the frame compared to your truck but the important bits will be the same. Send me a private message with exactly what you have and I will see what I have. You can have the parts for price of shipping. Linkage can be modified for your standard cab. I don't know if the valve assembly works which is the critical part.
