Sent away to GM of Canada a week or two ago and got my resto pac in the mail today it cost $35.00 cdn and gave me alot of the answers I was looking for but no options were recorded for that truck! that was a bit of a disapointment but at least i got the paint code that was a big bonus.

I was told by another bolter that the resto packs don't have truck specific information as I was worried I couldn't get one since my VIN is missing the production number. I was a little disapointed myself since I was hoping to find a way to track down the production number.

Apparently that information does not exist from what I hear.

However, like you said, the resto-pack has a wealth of useful knowledge for someone going for the stock look!

I my case the vin tag says body number 360 wich means 360th of 980 units built, my model of truck is a chev 1500 body style 1543 which is U.S. Chev model 6403 2 ton (1-1/2 ton special)and at least i know the engine is the original as well.

GM didn't keep real great records back then in terms of run of the mill production, individual trucks - OTOH, I had a 57 panel that was a special order [logging camp ambulance], and they had more info on it, including the original dealer it was sold thru

What Bill mentioned is what I have been told. Probably by Bill! Mine was one of about 10000 made and the VIN plate is a replacement. How that got titled, I'll never know! But I did find out that it was accurate as to the plant, series of truck and month of manufacture.

DS - what kind of truck is it?

The resto packs for Canadian trucks are different from the US resto packs. My understanding is that the Canadian resto packs do contain some individual truck info. The US packs do not.
