Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 | A friend of mine swapped entire axles front and rear in his truck with axles from a school bus with disk front and rear. I would look in to a swap like that. If you want to talk to him I could get you his phone number. They have disk brakes on bothe ends, with a somewhat unusual dual disk on the rear.

I have looked at some of the new big Chevy trucks, they have nice axles with disk front and rear. If you could get a good deal on a wrecked one that would probably work. You may want to take a tape measure and start measuring trucks you see with the brakes you want, even at the dealers lot. Check for spring pin center to center measurements and track width. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 1,276 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 1,276 | I am trying to stick with my 6 on 8 3/4" 22.5 wheels and have been looking for a front axle that will swap. I have found this bolt patern used on Anthey sweeper truck and some later model stepvans. both of these I looked at had huge 15 mabe 16" disc brakes and 22.5 wheels. | | |
