Plugs in it are R43
Calls for ac 46-5
Reason for my question is it diesels when shut off
Compression 135-150
Plug gap was too wide
I re-gapped but thought I’d aak about the r43 plugs before I reinstall
Can’t find a heat chart on line

Power piston hanging up, or accelerator pump leak depending on what carb you have.

Adjust the carburetor correctly and the problem will go away. Mixture and/or ignition timing has very little to do with the problem. If it won't idle somewhere around 500 RPM, fix the carburetor or find the vacuum leak. Jerry

Since I posted I’ve found
Vacuum advance won’t hold vacuum which would be lean BUT the carb is a mess I think
Leaks
Oozes gas from everywhere after shut off and accelerator pump quit working
I rebuilt but I think I’m losing my touch if I ever had one
Never checked timing as I thought it ran fine until I started driving more

Any leads on reputable carb and distributor rebuilders and or sources for parts
Distributor also has a bit of side to side play

He has the carb kit you need or contact him and he may be able to rebuild it for you. Here is a link to his website. http://www.thecarburetorshop.com/
