Bell housing, pressure plate and clutch disc have been installed. The clip I removed when taking things apart looked bent so I bought new (2 just in case) from Eckler's. Tips on installing would be appreciated. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,097 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,097 | Normally the clutch fork is installed on the ball on the bellhousing before the clutch assembly is installed. You may be able
to snake it in there and pry it into place but not too likely. You might as well avoid the frustration and remove the clutch,
install the new spring in the fork, and snap it back in place. Then reinstall the clutch.

Save the new springs for the next clutch change. I've worked on dozens of throwout forks with the springs missing. There will be no effect on the function unless the linkage gets massively out of adjustment.
