Hello all. Been wrenching over three decades now, recently picked up a ‘57 Chevy 6700 (SchoolBus). A bit different from my usual motorcycle, muscle car, and off road toys. Very excited to get this old bus driving again. Thanks in advance for the assistance and input!

Edit: Last pic is my 75 G30 Hightop Van, inherited from Grandpa!

welcome to the site!! Sweet bus! You going to make it into an RV, or cool youth group shuttle, any ideas yet?

Yes! Welcome to the Bolt. You got the right idea about the "nut" part. Goes well with Bolt, don't ya think??!!

That is a massive bus! Man. grin Glad you figured out how to do the images.

Also, if you search the site (menu bar up top), you'll see there are alot of school buses in here. Your vintage, too!

Welcome to the Bolt!

That's a very cool looking "Bus". thumbs_up Amazing looking condition to start off as a project. Might be just a little green with envy - haha!

Definitely want to hear more on your plans and would love to see more pics!

Catch you in the forums.

Thanks Cuda! Hoping to do an RV type conversion in the near future.
Been trying to find an alternative for these WidowMaker rims I’ve got, any ideas for me?
Thank you!

Under Tech Tips, there some entries on wheels under Big Bolts.

Best best is to post in Big Bolts forum. Those kinds of discussion are best over there. wink

Nice bus!

Like the G-30, too. Who did the 4WD conversion?

Reminds me of "Old # 9" I rode to school. A 58 on a Bluebird chassis. Love it!

Welcome!
That IS a cool bus! Do you know what band the bus body is? And was it 48 passenger, or larger than that? Looks almost like it could have been larger.

Welcome to the 'bolt. 45 years ago, my school district had a bus similar to that,,,, except shorter... in immaculate condition!

Actually still 2WD. 5" Lift though, still dreaming of a conversion.

It is a Superior, about 31’ long. I believe it had 12 rows of seats, so probably a 48 passenger!
