The springs are getting tired and I want to replace them with whatever the axle can handle. That way when the overloads hit, I know that it is about time to stop loading. Right now the overloads are only about 1/4"-1/2" from touching when empty. Too much spring would let me overload the axle before the springs hit.
I'm thinking at least 7,000. The current tires can handle 9,600. GVW (which is the same as the 3800 1 ton Chevy)The axle weight rating is 3500lb. frt., & 7200lb. rear.
