Does anybody have a guess as to the GAWR on a '49 3800 Dually? The springs are getting tired and I want to replace them with whatever the axle can handle. That way when the overloads hit, I know that it is about time to stop loading. Right now the overloads are only about 1/4"-1/2" from touching when empty. Too much spring would let me overload the axle before the springs hit.
I'm thinking at least 7,000. The current tires can handle 9,600. I think the truck is an 8,800 GVWR.
