Do you have a part number or link for the one you are looking at? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 217 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 217 | I got the Total Cost Involved coil spring crossmember but if I did another one I might consider the coil-over one. Part number for coil spring one is 232-2354-00 I believe is correct. If I were flush with $$ I would be tempted to get the frame option..LOL My LS1 Gen III engine is about 1 to 1 1/2 inch forward of the stock fire wall. I'm a little tight on clearance on the frt to rad but it should work. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2019 Posts: 2,243 Herder of Cats, Goats, and Sheep (moderator) | | Herder of Cats, Goats, and Sheep (moderator) Joined: Jan 2019 Posts: 2,243 | Ok, I am more confused now. What is your question? That part number comes up as an IFS conversion, not an engine crossmember. This part?If your engine is 1"-1.5" from the firewall, then you already have motor mounts positioning it there? Or are you saying that is where you want it and you are looking for an engine mount solution? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 | My 1934 Chevy Master 5W coupe has this engine and as I recall it was a snap to fab up engine mounts. Used home made block/frame brackets and flat head Ford biscuit type mount cushions. About a half hours work. I made templates for plasma cutting out future brackets.

I found some adjustable mounts on Holley web site looks neat. My steering rack will have to have the mount forward for my steering shaft and joints to clear. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 217 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 217 | Using TCI xmember my eng mount has to be as forward as possible to be able to clear steering linkage needed on my 51. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2019 Posts: 2,243 Herder of Cats, Goats, and Sheep (moderator) | | Herder of Cats, Goats, and Sheep (moderator) Joined: Jan 2019 Posts: 2,243 | I am still not clear what you are asking.
Do you want a recommendation for an engine crossmember? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 217 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 217 | No got that...motor mounts suggestions... | | | | | Joined: Jan 2019 Posts: 2,243 Herder of Cats, Goats, and Sheep (moderator) | | Herder of Cats, Goats, and Sheep (moderator) Joined: Jan 2019 Posts: 2,243 | So what engine crossmember did you get? That will drive what kind of mounts you need.
If you are wanting to use the IFS conversion as an engine crossmember as well, then the first thing to check is if it lines up with where your engine mounts need to be. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 217 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 217 | Looks like the Holley adjust mounts will work. Trying those...so far so good... | | |
