The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk Is this a Chevy ADS pickup?

I'm digitizing old super 8 movies and saw this flash by. It has my grandfathers logo on it. Is there enough to tell if it's a Chevy Advanced Design Series truck? If so, any guesses as to what year? Thanks in advance!

1954 or 1955 first series.

Yep, Gord & Fran nailed it.

I can’t see the grill. The bed rails do not look flat like 54-55.

I may be wrong but it appears to be a GMC side hood emblem. John

Here is a series of Tech Tips on identifying your truck. Maybe it'll help.

No doubt a Chevrolet 3100 54 or 55.1. One piece windshield. 54 was first year. Johnny, very similar badge to GMC but based on other clues I think that is a Chevrolet 3100 badge on the side of the hood. It is hard to tell because of the grainy picture but you can also make out the square parking lights.

Definitely a 54-55.1 if the windshield is one peace. Good spotting the square parking lights too! My eyes are terrible! I could see the 3100 badge though.

The one piece windshield is undeniable, and the 3100 emblem looks pretty solid too.

This would have been much more challenging had it been an early 50’s model and all we had to work with was one Big Foot quality photograph.
