Hi. I've been an admirer of 50s era Chevy pickups for a long time. After today I am now an owner of one as well. Leading up to the delivery and official ownership of a 1955 6400 I have spent a lot of time reading about them here on this site and a few others. I'm excited to get to work on my project truck and hope to be able to pick y'all's brains.
I run a small farm (also write software to pay the bills, so less "running" of that farm than I'd like sadly) and enjoy putting older machines to work. I've currently got a International 424 that's my "daily driver", a Case 930 that needs a bit of love, and an 8N that's in the middle of being put back together. So while greasemonkeying isn't new to me, working on something that isn't a tractor is a bit new and I'm pretty excited. With tractors there's a lot of "good'nuff" on account of things always breaking when you're in the middle of a time crunch, so you never can just get things done the way you want. It'll be nice to have a slower paced project that isn't mission critical, however I do intend to get this truck into working order and then put her right to work.

Since the Bolt Folks will badger you to death, you may want to get some pix in here as soon as you can. Here is as assortment of ways you can post images in here. (It's a sticky here in the Welcome Centre -- for others who want to know!)
It sounds like you've got a great project ... and one of many. We know how it is when running a farm. We have quite a few people who have farm truck. (Just search "farm truck" in the link above in the menu bar, and you'll see!)
Also, for that 6400, you'll want to check in at the Parking Lot where the Big Bolts are. That's a great bunch to hook up with.
And lastly, for fellowship and fun, check in at the Side Lot with the Midwest Bolters Association is already lining up some events to tag along in and meet up. One just this weekend.
As Rusty Rod said, be sure to ask your tech questions in the appropriate forum Hold off for the Project Journal post until we've gotten established a bit. It'll take a good bit of "blogging" to make it effective.
Welcome welcome.

1962 C10 with a 235 6cyl -- all of the drive train seems to be original. Some of this story is in the Side Lot Some people like a new truck. I liked the old ones.
Boy! You are really in the Ozark Mountains! Got any clear liquid you want to share?

Only for Don's truck!! Hey, welcome to the site. I'm in N.E. Missouri. Looks like you've got a good truck to start with.

Gosh there are a lot of Missourians about. I've never been north or west of Camdenton or east of Sikeston. Had to go to STL once, that was more than enough times. We moved here from Virginia and lived in a city, but after a while out here in the sticks with no neighbors for miles and just about no other cars on the road, I just can't stand multilane roads and traffic lights.
Trying to see if the pictures will work. You'd think someone who rights software for a living could figure this out...
There and The Greasy Spoon are the place for non-truck related conversations.
See you in the forums!
