This is my first post to this or any other site. I have spent countless enjoyable hours reading posts from many “bolters” that have informed and guided me since I found this site in the winter of 2008. I had recently acquired a 1954 Chevrolet ½ ton. (In Canada badged a 1300.) “Stovebolt”, what great site, so much information in a well organized, friendly atmosphere. I had passed through my hot rod stage in life and wanted to keep it mostly as delivered. The plan was to make it safe, reliable and use it as a truck. Unfortunately, the “while I have this apart I might as well clean and paint it, replace this, repair that” syndrome disassembled most of the truck. It did not leave the garage until Fall of 2017. Now I was afraid to use it as a truck for fear of scratching the paint. An all too common story. On the plus side that allowed me to justify purchasing a 1955 first series 3100 Chevy. A rust free California truck that will be made safe, reliable and as found Sea Foam Green paint. To be used as a truck. I would like to thank all of the people that have made this journey possible.

Welcome No1300! wave

Like you, I was once a long time "reader" before I finally decided to join the active side of the Stovebolt community.

Glad you have been able to make use of the info that has been and continues to be shared by the entire "Collective" (as some call it). thumbs_up

You story and experiences are similar to many shared by a bunch of fellow 'Bolters.

Now that you have given us a taste of what you have going on, how about posting some pictures of your trucks??? pix

We would all love to see some pictures when you get the opportunity. Picture Posting Help[/url] in the IT Short Bus.

Looking forward to seeing your trucks and future conversations! shake

Dan
