It’s important to decipher all the codes when you are planning your part hunt trip to the junk yard Some parts are shared across a vast majority of vehicles so you can pick up a much less worn out part sometimes by looking places no one else does Like at a D-D truck for instance -s

2 many trucks I have been watching for the wheels on your final bread truck picture since 1982. My 51 3600 has that dual wheel differential and added leaf springs to haul canned milk in the 50's because single wheels couldn't take the load. I knew the guy who fixed that up but never got the axle he used. Iv'e always thought the axle was GM. Have hauled 25 years worth of firewood with it plus winch truck duty,still alive and well !!
The d-d trucks had the same 18 inch split rims as the 1 ton dualies? Photo attached of one of my dual 1 ton 53s That rear rim configuration is very common and cheap and easy to get up in Saskatchewan, those rims go for like $50 each up there. -s
2 Many Trucks Just saw your ton ,my rear axle has a stubby hub just like that. Had a ton one oh ten years ago but never made the hookup between the two. Was afraid it might be out of a binder or worse. S o is Chevy ,think I put a pinion seal in it just used the numbers. Had to make a driveshaft and done a little cheating on the carrier bearing to get straight but is fine,and had some big loads and steep hills worked good !! thanks for the picture.

Was that truck built on the same frame as the Suburban/pickup?
