I found the 1947 bronze bushing. Are the 1946 and 1947 bronze bushings the same?

Is a restoration ever finished? | | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 36 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 36 | depending on your skill level the best way that i found to repair the 39-46 door hinge is to drill the hinge and put in a bigger pin. The problem is that you will have to make the new pin. i used a piece of 5/16 stainless rod turned down to fit the hole and i heated up the end and hammered out a new head. i do not remember what size bit i used and it really doesnt matter because it depends on how worn your hinge is. drill first and make pin second. i do think that there are new hinges available but i am not to sure on how accurate they are in appearance and fit. i hope this helps. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 36 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 36 | i looked at my notes on my 39 and the drill bit i used on the hinge was a 19/64. i dont have a lathe at home so i chucked the pin in my drill and turned it against my belt sander until i got it to correct size.
