Has anyone tried making an adapter plate to go from 7.25” 10 bolt to 11” 10 bolt to use modern 22.5” wheels? I’ve got adapters to convert the center hole, but just thought of this idea. I’ve seen adapter plates to change the number of bolts to adapt different wheels, I can’t see why this wouldn’t work.
One can get 10 on 8.750”, 22.5” wheels(60’s GMtrucks) which can be found, and redrill them to 10 on 7.25” plus center hole adapters. Left hand wheel in picture. Milling machine and rotary table required.

Milling machine and rotary table. If they don’t know what you are talking about, go somewhere else! Find a proper ‘torque plate’ to finish the job! Drill the holes slightly under size, then use a 1/64” oversized reamer to finish holes, since two flute drills do not drill a round hole.

Ed you have a picture of the finished product on the truck?
I found a shop who says they do the remake of the rim all the time. But they cut the center out and replace it with the center from the right bolt pattern.
Thanks, Ed- - - -you just saved me some money on a project I'm starting. I've got a 10 lug small bolt pattern vacuum shift 2 speed axle, and some 10 lug 24.5" wheels off a road trailer. I'm building a doodlebug tractor with a Turbo 350, a crash box 4 speed, and that rear axle, powered by a Mercruiser 4 cylinder engine. I was considering using Farmall Cub rear wheels adapted to the rear end, but lug tread 18 wheeler tires will work just as well- - - -especially if I run tractor inner tubes and fill them with liquid. I could even run dual wheels if I wanted to. Jerry

Can you give me the name or number to that shop? Looking to change wheels if possible. Can't find anybody that wants to even change a split ring wheel.
