my truck came with a bench out of some early 80's sedan. It puts me way too close to the steering wheel and too high up. Has anyone replaced a bench seat in one of these trucks with something from a different (easily available) vehicle that works really well or maybe know of a low cost replacement option?

md,

Without knowing what your truck is, hard to provide any decent feedback or info. frown

Suggest you update your profile and add a "signature line" that tells us what your truck is (year/make/model). If you do that, it automatically shows up in all your posts so we don't have to guess what your asking about.

Let us know and we can try and help from there. thumbs_up

My '57 5700 LCF is the same cab as yours, the original seat is also a little too close to the wheel for me and I'm not big, If you are not too concerned about originality then maybe a bucket seat would be more adjustable.

Look at some of the bench seats from the 70s-80s Chevy pickups. Tape measure and salvage yard are your friend.

Matt,

Thanks for adding you signature line info. thumbs_up While others are ginning up some replies to your question, maybe you could share some pics of your truck??? pix

You know how much we love pictures - LOL! yahoo

Oh, BTW, here is a previous conversation I found using the "Search the Site" tool you can see in the left main page margin (I searched for alternative seat options for Task Force trucks).

https://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/1290664/task-force-seat-options.html

There were several other threads that you could look at for suggestions too.

My truck is a 1954 3100, I have 2001 Buick Lesabre seats. I wanted shoulder belts and they are built into them. The same style is in Pontiacs also.Mine are buckets but they other options.
