Even has a four digit phone number. (I remember those days of four digit phone numbers here also.) The truck is much better then the pictures portray. The engine appears to be a more modern 'full flow filter' 235. That ingenious airfilter is actually, 'just that'. Inside the can is a red oil soaked rag stuffed in the throat of the carb. It seems to have kept the moisture out because the engine still turns over fine by hand. A little 'tinkering' and she will be road worthy(?). The loading a hauling was a bit strange because we couldn't get the outside rear tires off so that it would fit on my friends trailer. Tried with WD and heat and a big 'swede' and also air, but the lug nuts wouldn't move. No one wanted to be standing near it seems while I jacked up the rear to put the tires on the blocks. Heck, I can move mountains with a handyman jack or two. Rode great all the way home. $50 for the truck and $100 for the gas to go get it, not a bad price at all. About a hundred miles to tow it, went up Rice Hill on I-5 (pretty steep coming from the north) and we didn't go under about 50 MPH. All-in-all it was one of the easiest tows.

He could of been with me last eve.. when I finally towed Boomer home...... yup a '48 2-ton boom truck..... Towed it home with a full size bronco and an *old* Croft tow-bar...... Thank the gods it was only 11 miles... as I couldn't go over 15 mph... without the tail wagging the dog...
