Just fabricate a bracket that aligns the belt pulleys properly and bypass the charging system wiring at the voltage regulator. That "high voltage" ignition system modification is a solution in search of a problem, as long as you're willing to do a little regular preventive maintenance on the original ignition system.

6v positive ground alternators in a 10SI case do exist.
'57 GMC 102, Original 347 V8, HydraMatic, 3.08 rear gear, added A/C, disk front brakes, HEI, AFB carb, '98 Honda Black Currant paint. T-boned and totaled 10/12
'52 GMC 152 Stake Bed, Original 228, SM420, added A/C, HEI, disk front brakes, '67 Chev 3.55 rear gear. Gets used as a real truck.

Amazon 10si 12V alternator $55 and free ship. By the time you pay shipping of the ebay style alternator to Canada, you will be over $300. You can do that whole 12V conversion for that.

Make what happen? Put on the 6V Alt and go down the road. It has nothing to do with coil or Dizzy.
