Hey gang. Just a gentle reminder about YouTube videos in a post.

Not that long ago, (more weirdness) if you posted a naked YT link (it looks like this but if we go *naked* we'll end up with an embedded video in here):
HTML
https://youtu.be/QAZv0HUJOKQ
the "link" automatically became embedded in the post, meaning it was large and in-charge in the post. Now, granted, we almost wished we could do that (had the image smack dab where ever we put it) but we were at least able to get the Attachment Manager to work. That allows for thumbnail size images, which open to larger images (and some with slideshows grin ) ... if you want to see them, you can click away.

Using Will (Grn52chevy) as an example, he easily changed his naked YT videos to nice, clean, clear LINKS:

Engine idle - Fresh tune up - exhaust

Here's what Will's link in code looks like:
HTML
Engine idle part 1

This part { "Engine idle - Fresh tune up - exhaust" }: is the TITLE for the LINK.

We've been avoiding the embedded YT video because of byte constraints for some of our readers. Not everyone has unlimited internet. Better to be able to choose to look.

ohwell
If you have questions or need some help with this, please just ask!! thumbs_up

Carry on ....

laalaa

HUH! As my first comment indicates I appreciate the new picture format but I don't understand how you got there. Keep up the good work and someday I maybe JUST maybe I will understand it. wink

Thanks Peggy for the explanation. I would also like to chime in and help explain how I properly shared YouTube Videos on Stovebolt since I just learned myself.

Copy the link of a YouTube video by hitting share button below the video and copy the link.

Select full editor in your reply on stovebolt. Find the “planet and chain” icon at the top of the post section which is to insert a link.

Paste the YouTube link into that box. Select okay and then put in the title for your video and select okay. It then automatically converts your code to a link on your post. I attached pictures below to show how.

Hope this helps,

Will

Thanks Will for a well done explanation and the process demonstration pictures. thumbs_up

Probably one of the easiest methods I have seen so far.

Thanks again! chug
