While just about anything can be repaired with enough investment of time, money and effort, would you be comfortable betting your life on a repair of a stressed point that carries the weight of the vehicle and absorbs every bump the spring encounters? Even if I played high stakes poker, I don't think I'd be betting on an inside straight like that repair would resemble. Frames in much better condition aren't all that scarce or expensive.

X2 what Jerry said.

Search your local ads (Craigslist, FB Marketplace, etc.) for a replacement frame.

Since you haven’t indicated what your working on, you can update your post to give folks more details (make/model/year) so they can maybe help point you in a good direction.

Don’t forget you can also post an ad in the Swap Meet “Truck Parts Wanted” forum too! thumbs_up

Suggested we move this to Paint & Body forum. They may be able to give some more ideas.

I have to agree with Jerry. I had some rust in that spot as well, but nowhere near that bad. The blaster called it "structural rust" meaning it had weakened the structure. I did some repairs to mine, but wouldn't attempt it on that one.

It could be repaired, but it would be time consuming expensive, and the strength would be questionable. It would probably look like crap too.

If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.

To repair that frame to make it usable might cost as much as the one that Kevinski posted.

If it is that bad then how thin is the rest of the frame?

Kicking self for selling off my Taskforce trucks.
Still looking for an LCF or conventional big bolt in decent shape.

As of 10-26-2022, A 55.2 Taskforce long bed now the work begins

You’re right I suppose it would help if mentioned the year.
This is off a 1949 3100
Thanks for the help

I had my 1960 C-10 frame repaired by a top notch frame shop. The frame was toast on both sides where the panhard bar and shocks mount. He fabbed new sections on both sides and welded them in. See pics. $1,200
