hiyas... so I saw this ad... and was checking out the pics on the old cool truck.. thought I'd ask you folks a few things about it, I'm just curious... I have no place to put it.

So, is it a shortbed ton truck? 1 ton, 1.5 - is there anyway to tell by looking at it?

hit me with any other details ya notice about it.

Anyway, I just thought it was very cool... I so need a garage. he he he.

Woogeroo,

I don't know if this holds true to GMC's, but on Chevrolet's, the dust cover on the front spindle screwed on for 1 1/2 ton and was held on with little bolts for the 2 ton.

Although it isn't real clear in the pix, it looks like these are held on with bolts. Maybe a TWO TON!

It looks like a 12' bed to me!

Just eyeballing it, it looks to be either a 1 1/2 ton or 2 ton 154" wheelbase.

Not a '49 model either. Looks to have push button door handles, & vent windows in the doors. This would make it a '52, or '53 model.

Definately a 1-1/2 or 2-ton. I vote for for a 350 two-ton. Newer than 49 as noted. Spank, couldn't that be 51 to 53? Better looking than that 49 I'm working on, wish it were here. Where is this Craiglist thing?? Is it Canadian? The date is written goofy like they do. Sure wasn't much info. I wrote asking for location, eng. size, and VIN #.

craigslist is like old school newspaper type classifieds, except you can add pics and it's free. they have different 'towns' or 'areas' and then sections like cars and trucks... then it is done by date in the individual sections.

I was thinking that it was a little bit newer...

thanks folks, just curious.

I think it's neat, if I had a place to stash it I'd drive down there to check it out.

I blew the picture up, & it definitly looks to have push button door handles. 1952, was the first year for push button door handles. It's not a '54, because it doesn't have the square park lights. If doors are correct, it almost has to be a '52, or '53.
