Anyone have any pic's of 48-55 1st edition truck with bucket seats and console? Wanting to do something like that but like to see some that have been done for ideas. Thanks for any help...

I used correct factory bucket seats in my 1953 3100.
Wow, that's pretty cool. I never knew buckets were even an option back then for an AD. Those look great because they're correct and as primitive as the rest of the truck.
I can't imagine many were sold. Your average farmer in 1953 would feel like he was getting ripped off with seating for only two instead of 3 or 4.

If anyone is interested in buckets early Buck Lesabre will fit as also Pontiac of the early 2000s.Simular to what I have.. There ar bucets with and without and also bench styles.

They were actually kinda standard for Panels. Hard to get but not super rare.
Why would they be more popular on panel vans? Was the center area used for stowing long items like ladders or pipes?

Not popular. Standard. Pass through to get to the back area without having to go outside and open the rear doors, etc. You could only lay material there until it gets in the way of a floor shifter.
The passenger's seat apparently was optional. The back of the seat would fold down flat, then the whole seat would pivot over, almost under the dash. As Mark stated, this would allow access to the cargo area.
