Here is another attempt on posting pictures. This is my 1954 6400 Dad bought new. He used it farming here in s calif. The truck hauled a lot of hay, and Dsd did disking for others hauling his Allis Chalmere Model M tractor and disk. I continued his disking work for others making fire brakes, before the fire season started. The truck had a probably three motors, and a bunch of tires in over 100k miles of hard going. It had a hard life, and is retired now. Still have the truck and it has been in a garage all its life. Stan

Nice truck. A 6400 series truck is a 16000lb. gvw, 2 ton truck, and not a 1 1/2 ton. 1 1/2 ton 14000lb. gvw trucks that wheelbase are 4400 series trucks.

Front hub cover clearly shows as 2 ton, 1.5 ton cover smaller, cast with pipe thread. 2 ton allows use of ‘91 to ‘01 disc brake spindles and hubs on early hub with factory wheel bolt pattern.

In 1970 I worked with a lead body man. a dent like that would come in in the morning, by evening he would have it in primer, no fill of any kind, just straighten it. Once painted, you couldn't tell it had been hit. Most lead work would be joints and not much in there really.
