When mounting fenders and inner panels, on the left side there is a 2” gap between cab and inner panel. The fender fits the cab and radiator support just right. Inner is the problem. Any suggestions? 1950 3100

Can you provide photos ? Also year / model of your truck ?

You may be missing the filler pieces that the factory put in there. They were screwed to the firewall and extended toward the fenders with anti-squeak material stapled to the edges. The pics shows what's left of the originals on my truck. One side was basically rectangular and the other L-shaped. Replacements are available from the usual vendors.

I ran into the same problem (if I am understanding correctly) and there is a reinforcement bracket that is bolted to the cab floor that extends the inner fende rmounting surface forward about 2". You can just see the top edge of the bracket in the attached picture. Mine was in the pile of parts I had from my cab disassembly and once I found it and installed it the inner fender fit was much better.

That’s it !!!! We are missing that. Believe it’s the Packing brake bracket. Thanks a 1/2 ton

Correct: The parking brake bracket bolts to the floor and the driver's side inner fender bolts to the bracket. I was misunderstanding the question when I suggested the filler strips.

Here's a pic from below. You can see one bolt on the inner fender, and what's left of the cab floor. It's heavier than the cab floor, so didn't melt completely away.
