Was wanting to know if there is a way to convert from dual tires on the back to a single wide tire on the bigger trucks? Later batman

What about those big sprayer trucks farmers use or rent or whatever for fertilizer? If you can find a 10-bolt wheel in wide size, should be a doer. Army trucks had big tires, but those are bigger bolt pattern I'm sure. Anyway, what's wrong with duals? They look more Manly! HD3500 of modern design uses that bolt pattern, but center holes are diff size than 53 or older.

You will most likely have to buy either special wheels from a wheel manufacturer like Stockton Wheel (I don't recomend the company).
Or buy some wheel adaptors and then buy some wide singles often called super singels or wide base wheels for semi sized trucks.
Just my 1.5 cents.

Just asking may not even happen. I just like to be different I have always liked the look of a big tire filling up the wheel well or if you want to call it a pro street look even though its a bus i'd be doing it to. But who knows what I might do we'll see as things progress. Later batman

Those tire on the sprayer trucks are not intended
for street use and would likely give a poor ride.
I have seen the wide tires for the semis, Michelin makes them. They seem to be popular in
Europe and are just starting to appear in the US.

A couple of tanker companies out here use 'em. I'm thinking they must either last longer, cost less per set, handle better or be cheaper/easier to repair and maintain-can't think of too many reasons to use 'em. As near as I can remember, those wheel adapters are about 800.00 per pair, the wheels will be another 5-600.00 a pair, and I don't know what the tires will run,but it's likely to cost a bit to get the set up you want. It'll sure look awesome when it's done though.

one of the reasons for going to the super single tires is to save weight therefore you can carry more payload. Drivers I've talked to generally like them. bigest complaint lack of traction on slick roads. seems tire companies are also suggesting better fuel economy.

All the reasons listed were the ones listed in an
article by Tire Review a few years ago. I seem to
recall that they were mostly testing in the western states.
batman, try www. michelinman.com for michelin
tire information.

Hy, batman, I goofed. That website is for passenger and light trucks. I should have checked it first. However, www.michelintruck.com
has the information you need. I'm planning to hit some of the local show as my work schedule
allows and wiil be at Goodguys in Indy next month, maybe I'll see you there.
