Want to upgrade from the 2 piece rim style on the 1950 3/4 ton to a one piece. would like to keep the original look and hub cap mounting, anyone have any experience with this? I am sure that this is not the first time for this question. Thanks!

There are lots of 8 lug, tubeless wheels out there, aftermarket ‘trailer’ wheels are unused by many!

Tape measure and a salvage yard can really be your friend. Good luck.

Dexstar Tires and Wheels , AM 20766 , 16" x 6" rim., 8 lug on a 6-1/2 bolt pattern, +.5 " offset. Provides clearance for front tie rod ends (don't let them put the wheel balance weights on the inside though ) . These are what I bought for my 1954 3604 Truck. You won't be able to use your original hubcaps without modification.

Here’s what I did on my 51 GMC 1 ton. I used Dexstar AM20766 trailer rims. They have worked well for me. 2500 miles and no issues. The hubcaps fit in nicely, but you have to rivet your originals clips into the rims. I can’t exactly say how the clips will hold the hubcap, as I haven’t actually done that yet despite having been “done” the truck for 4 years now!

There are some picture links for you to look at to see if this is something you’d consider.

I used some 80's ford rims on mine and used an after market hubcap.
