Well the trip to Buhl is over & the Toro-Flow is sitting out in the driveway to night. I found out what wimpy my new truck is, it had a vary time pulling a small trailer along for the ride, and about the same coming back loaded. But it was not all the load been pulled, the wind was blowing really hard, we had a side wind the hole time we were headed north, then a head wide when headed west. Coming back headed east was great, nice tail wind most of the way, but then headed south that side wind again. I got 21.57 mpg on the tank before the trip in my 2001 GMC, and only 13.75 on this trip.
On the way up we stuck to the freeway most of the way, seen a few old trucks not so hidden along the way, but on the trip home we came on old highway 30 found a two really good places we need to check back up on soon. One place I have been past I don't know how many times, but this trip they had replaced a bridge and we detoured on a side road to old highway 30, and on the back side of a small hill I have been past many time in the past, there is a really good collection of old trucks & cars that has been there many years. Just too windy out 7 time was getting short so we didn't stop this trip.
Back to the Toro-Flow, I got it pretty much complete from flywheel to fan, oil pan to air cleaner. We get to Keith's place and find the
Toro-Flow hangin\' from the rafters of a small barn , we get the trailer backed in & loaded up. I checked out his truck a little, not much left looking like a truck at this time, just the cab sitting on the frame, front clip sitting off to the side. But this GMC 4000 has power steering, so I got a good pic of it, with the front end off, so you can see what a stock power steering set up looks like.
Rip home was fair we had to stop in Snowville for gas, with two major hills to go over I didn't want to take a chance of running dry of fuel.
Ok I can head you out there,
Here Are The Photos .
Enjoy.
